Considering a brake caliper upgrade for your Corvette? The Wilwood D8-6 brake calipers are designed as direct bolt-on replacements for OE calipers on all Corvettes from 1965-82. They feature forged billet aluminum bodies, stainless steel pistons, and high-temperature seals, eliminating the common issues of rust, bore pitting, and seal failures found in OE calipers. The Wilwood D8-6 calipers offer low-maintenance performance, significant weight savings, high-temperature reliability, and enhanced braking power with 6-piston pad clamping. They are compatible with stock rotors, utilize original D8 brake pads, and fit most '67 or newer production wheels. However, certain wheels, like the 1965-66 OE "JK" code steel wheels and some aftermarket replica alloy wheels, may need a 3/16 inch or wider wheel spacer for proper clearance. Upgrading to these Wilwood D8-6 brake calipers will significantly improve your Corvette's braking performance compared to the OE calipers.
